Celine Dion is a Canadian singer who was born March 30, 1968. She is a songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur. Born to a large, but poor family in Charlemagne, Quebec, she became a teen star in the French-speaking world when her manager René Angélil mortgaged his home to finance her first record. René Angélil eventually married Celine.
Celine Dion is the best selling Canadian artist of all time. Her album, D'eux is the top selling French-language album in the world. when she surpassed 175 million mark in album sales worldwide in 2004, she was presented with the Chopard Diamond Award at the World Music Awards for becoming the best selling female artist and most well known female artist of all time. In April 2007 Sony BMG announced to the world that Celine Dion had sold over 200 million albums worldwide.
